Webinars
What is a Webinar?
Webinar is an acronym for Web-based Seminar.
Attending a webinar is like attending any seminar apart from the place where the event takes place. Instead of meeting in a conference room we will meet in a virtual conference room on the Web.
Joining a meeting does not take long – just follow the instructions, which you will receive from us shortly after you have registered.
Once you have logged in you can sit back and listen to the presentation on the phone while watching it on your screen. If you wish to ask a question you can raise your hand by clicking on the hand symbol which will appear on your screen. So what is required to participate? Basically a phone and PC with access to the Internet is all you need.
System Requirements for Nova School’s E-Learning classes
Thank you for your interest in Nova School’s online classes. These classes are presented through WebEx, a virtual classroom system.
Generally, all you need to participate in our classes is Internet access and a telephone (see system requirements below). Before you sign on, please make sure to close other programs on your computer, as this may slow down your browser and viewing of the presentation.
You may join any session up to 10 minutes before the start time. We highly recommend that you sign on at least 10 minutes early, especially your first time on the system. All classes will begin precisely on time.
First-time WebEx Users
The first time you sign on to a Nova School online class, WebEx will either prompt you or immediately download plug-in onto your computer. This will only take a few minutes, but to save time:
Download your plug-ins in advance by clicking here (then click “set up”)
Also, verify that your rich media players are up-to-date by clicking here
If You Require Technical Assistance Immediately Before Or During A Session
If you are having technical problems during a session, call WebEx technical support at (866) 229-3239 and press 1 then 2, to be connected immediately to a technical support person assigned to help participants re-enter programs that are in session. A list of WebEx’s global toll free numbers is available on the WebEx site at http://support.webex.com/support/phone-numbers.html. The international toll number for WebEx is (408) 435-7088.
After the class begins, Nova School cannot take time away from a presentation to handle your personal technical issues. Thank you for your understanding.
System Requirements
The following system requirements have been adapted from WebEx’s list of cross-platform features and known issues. If you have an operating system that is not listed below, and/or you wish to view the complete WebEx document, click here.

America Online: WebEx does not support this browser. Once you’ve logged-in to AOL, open an Internet Explorer browser and go to the online class from there.
If your default browser is anything but Internet Explorer, you will not be able to access your class by clicking on the link in your registration e-mail. You will need to first go into Internet Explorer and follow these instructions:

Look at the left panel
Go to “Attend a Session: Live Sessions”
Find your class
Click on the “join now” button
Type in your name, e-mail address and the registration code that was sent to you when you registered for the course
If you are registering at the last minute, after clicking the “join now” button please click the “register ” button to receive the registration code (it will be sent to you via e-mail).
Mac Users
Although Mac users will be able to fully participate in the online workshops, some of the features of the system will not be accessible to you. These minor limitations should not deter you from enrollment. Nova School is making every effort to adapt all programs for equal viewing by Mac users, but there is a possibility that some of our embedded videos will not be accessible to you and that if a presenter decides to use a webcam, you will be unable to see them. You will not have all of the information tabs when you join a session, so be certain to print out your registration form when received, and have it ready when you sign on.
